Hinto sat in the cafe, waiting for lane. He looked at his glass of orange juice, and then at the plates of food. The ham and bacon welcomed him, but he was going to wait.
As if arguing with him, his stomach growled angrly and bubbled. Hinto smiled slightly. He was craving a big steak. Yes...he would take Lane to Jacks Steak House tonight after they got to newyork.

You and I in a little toy shop Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got. Set them free at the break of dawn 'Til one by one, they were gone.
Lane moved as quickly as she could wearing flipflops, giggling to herself at the sounds of her sandals slapping against her feet and the floor. She liked the sounds of the flipflops, they reminded her of the world around her. It helped Lane think, to hear those sandals slapping.
She grabbed some food at random, coming to the end of the line with a few undercooked Belgian waffles, some bacon, and an undercooked pancake, which seemed to be oozing batter onto her tray. With her free hand, Lane poked it, wincing and pulling her finger back as soon as she realized that even though it was undercooked, it was hot. She gave a few smothered cusses, before wiping her finger on the underside of the black dress.
There was a flicker of amusement in Lane's eyes as she dropped herself onto the bench beside Hinto. "Hey." she grumbled, glowering at her plate. The bacon was overcooked, she thought to herself fiercely, the waffles and pancake were overcooked as well. It faded away an instant later, that flicker of amusement, buried by happiness.
Soon she'd be out of this place. There'd be well cooked food, meat she could eat, fish, perhaps, and then maybe some toast. Lane smiled at the thought, and it gave her the courage to try one of the pieces of bacon.
Cautiously, she raised it to her mouth...
Back at base, bugs in the software Flash the message, Something's out there. Floating in the summer sky. 99 red balloons go by. [/blockquote]

Hinto leaned closer to her, his voice reflecting the amusement in his chest. ''Tonight, steak house, tomorrow morning, Waffel house,'' He said with a small chuckle. ''If thats alright with you, that is,'' He added a moment later as he sat back up. ''Then the shops,'' He winked. Leaning back slightly, he sighed and smiled. he was ready to get back on the road. he liked the freedom he had.

All this time I was wasting Hoping you would come around I've been giving out chances every time And all you do is let me down
Lane laughed dryly, "I just want out of this place. I'm tired of undercooked meals and ofovercooked meat. I want to be done here, I want to close this chapter of m life and met the big wide world." she smirked to herself.
"Anything is fine with me. Just as long as it's not McDonalds or anything." she snorted, poking at the pancake again, before pushing the plate aside and deciding that nothing was worth eating that.
Lane grinned, "New shoes is in order." she pointed at her feet, which were far too big for her shoes, "And then what we need to do is get a pedi." her fingers wandered towards Hinto's hand. She wriggled her toes, "They need some polishing... My toenails, that is." she snorted, leaning her head against Hinto's chest.
"Anyways, I'm done eating for now. The food is extremely disgusting, I'm just glad I won't be eating here ever again."
And it's taking me this long Baby but I figured you out And you're thinking we'll be fine again But not this time around

Hinto smiled and kissed the top of her head. He grabbed a jacket that rested beside him. ''Put this on and lets get out of here.'' He said with an eager smile. ''I want to leave too,'' He sighed and looked around. As much as he loved being with his sisiter, this place just wasnt worth it, as long as he knew she was safe.
Hinto stood up and stretched. ''I need to pick my car up from the garage too,'' he said with a groan.

You don't have to call anymore I won't pick up the phone This is the last straw Don't wanna hurt anymore
Lane wriggled into it with a snort, "I'll be perfectly fine without the coat, ya know?" she laughed, but she did welcome the coat, welcome the warmth it brought her. Still, it was a bit large on her, not that Lane would complain. It smelled nice...
"Well, duh! Of course you want to leave. This place is obscenely boring. Geez, there aren't even that many good looking boys around here." Lane whined, but there was a good natured grin beneath her words.
"You have a car? I'm regretting getting involved in this less and less, you know?"
And you can say that you're sorry But I don't believe you baby Like I did before You're not sorry, no, no, no, no [/blockquote]

Hinto smiled. ''Its only to prevent question,'' He said with a small chuckle. He slipped his own on and looked around, talking to himself as he made sure he had all he needed. ''Yeah, Its a Cobra 230 convertable. Silver, black leather interior. Only two seats. Speed demon,'' He said as he smiled at her. ''Who knows, maybe i'll let you drive it. Or maybe the mustang...That might be better,'' He muttered the last part tohimself as he looked at the time. _____
Iona walked into the Cafe. She looked broken, as if some one had finally shattered her shell and exposed her soft heart. She felt weak and helpless...Exposed and scared.
''Iona,'' Bryan called as he trotted to catch up with her. He looked at her, but she just kept on walking, ignoring him.
''You dont talk to me here, remember?'' She snapped, making Bryan stop in his tracks and watch her head to the furthest table and sit.
She began to think about what Sam had said as she walked away. ''He is worth the apology,'' She muttered to herself as she placed her head down on the table. She sighed and closed her eyes. It had been a terrible few days...
______
Maikoda walked in, saw her brother, and went to a different table before he or Lane could notice her. She wasnt far from iona, only about two tables away, but she didnt mind. She found the DNA people interesting.
She looked around, looking at al of the people, Shifters and Dna alike. She sighed and smiled at a few of them all.

Don't make no difference if I'm wrong or I'm right I've got the feeling and I'm willing tonight Well I ain't nobody's angel What can I say, I'm just that way
"If you say so." Lane commented doubtfully, eyes glittering with amusement. The outside world was calling her, and she was going to leave this dark, nasty world behind. Time was passing, and she was ready to see the world again, to smile and hug her father and to watch everyone walk beneath her, laughing at how much they looked like ants. That was her dream, the one thing she had missed while pent up in this lab. She wanted to feel the wind stir her hair without worrying about making a wrong move, and now that was in her grasp.
"Go Speed Racer~" Lane laughed, delighted by the attempt to rib Hinto. "I can sing the entire theme song for you, if you'd like?" Then she paused, frowning, "Okay, I'm not sure if I can. Forget I said anything." Only misty memories of that TV show - one her father had liked - drifted through her mind. Once, she'd been able to sing that entire song, but now, she wasn't so sure. Was there even a song?
"I think I'll pass on the opportunity." Lane commented with a snort. Well, this was new. Who would've ever thought that Lane would be turning down a chance to drive a car. But, along with many things from the 'real' world, Lane's memories of them were misty, and she wasn't sure she could drive the car without killing the both of them.
--
Sam paced after her retreating back after a moment, almost deciding not to. Still, though, with Leo gone, off sulking, most likely, leaving Sam alone. And above all, Sam didn't like being alone. Iona was the most likely person to let him talk to them, other than a 'shifter he didn't know or something.
And Sam really didn't feel like talking with any strangers right then.
That was what had convinced him to follow her, a slow smile on his face as he walked forward, just far enough behind her that he could claim he wasn't following her if needed, but close enough that he could still see her. He wasn't one to trust any senses other than his sight, so...
Plodding along, his sharp ears caught the sounds of raised voices. Sam picked up the pace, peering around a corner in the hall in time to catch Iona walking angrily away from Bryan, sealing the deal. If he hadn't planned on talking with Iona before, the fight (or at least, he assumed it was a fight) with Bryan had made him certain that he wanted to.
After watching her take a seat, Sam sidled in past Bryan and heading towards where Iona had sat down, settling down on the seat beside her, watching with a hint of concern in his gaze as he observed her head resting on the table. "You okay?" he questioned, shooting a glare in Bryan's direction.
He turned back to Iona an instant later. "Hey, I'm sorry about earlier." he added softly, resting his palm on her shoulder, pulling his hand back an instant later, as if shy.
--
Leo wandered aimlessly into the cafeteria from the library, where he'd been banished by Callan. He almost felt bad for himself, but there was another, harsher part of him that whispered that they deserved it and that he was better than them. Leo's eyes settled on Sam, in the back of the cafeteria with that Iona girl and he turned away, eyes glittering with pressed back tears and anger - this friendship, near obsession he felt for Sam couldn't be healty. He needed to branch out some. Leo turned and plodded towards the line, passing through it quickly enough, standing with a tray filled with food he wasn't particularly fond of.
Choosing a table at random, Leo plodded towards a table with only a girl sitting at it, sliding into the seat beside her, shooting a glare in Sam's direction. Look at me, he was whispering in his mind, I'm having fun without you. A dark laugh escaped Leo, and he turned towards the girl who sat beside him. She seemed to be absorbed in observing the world around her.
"I'm Leo." he introduced himself, forcing a smile on his face. "Domesticated Cat DNA." He added, inclining his head, before narrowing sharp eyes. "You look like someone I know... His name is . . . Heen or something?" Leo frowned, a look of concentration showing on his face.
"But anyways," He went on a second later, "You remind me of him."
((First time I've tried playing them. Sorry if it's not the best.))
You've got a problem with the way that I am They say I'm trouble and I don't give a damn But when I'm bad I know I'm better I just want to get loose, and turn it up for you

Hinto laughed softly, rummaging through is pockets, silently looking for something. ''Don't worry about it, you don't gotta' do anything,'' His eyes glittered softly as he seemed to find what he was looking for.
''Any ways,'' He was making a list in his head of all the things that he might need, and of things he would have to watch for inorder to get Lane out of this hell hole safely. ''Lets get our asses out of here.'' He grinned slightly, shooting a glance to his sister who had yet to notice him. ''And the sooner the better, M'dear'' He added with a small laughing sound. He really didn't want his sister to see him leading Lane out of there and not her. ---- Iona jumped slightly, extreamly surprised to see the jelly-fish DNA boy there. ''Yes, im fine,'' She growled slightly as she looked away, away from both Sam and BJ. She was afraid now. Many would say that she was foolish, but she could not help it. Words had done harm, and she did not want that pain again and again.
When Sam's hand touched her shoulder, she jumped again, her ruby eyes leaping back to him in a jolt as her chair slid back in her fear. The whites of her eyes were visable for a moment, but soon faded. ''What ever....'' She said softly in a very shy and weak voice. She looked away again. Appologize...It is the only thing you can do... She silently muttered in her own mind. But, no matter how much she told herself this, she couldnt bring herself to do it. ----
Maikoda's golden eyes watched Leo as he sat down next to her, a soft smile forming on her face. ''Im Maikoda, Dire Wolf shifter,'' She said kindly as she nodded to him. ''Nice to meet you, Leo,'' A larger smile formed on her face as her eyes glittered slightly. Her thoughts drifted away from her brother and now to meeting the new person.
''Hinto? Yeah. Hes...My brother.'' Her smile turned into a nervous grin, afraid of what he would say or so when she admitted to having a Searcher Brother. She lowered herself into a submissive posture as she waited for his reponse.
