My child arrived just the other day
He came to the world in the usual way
But there were planes to catch and bills to pay
He learned to walk while I was away
And he was talkin' 'fore I knew it, and as he grew
He'd say "I'm gonna be like you dad
You know I'm gonna be like you~"
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home dad?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then...
Name: Samuel Jason Gibbs
Goes By: Sam
Age: 17 years
DNA: Box Jellyfish {click for image}
Roleplayed By: Knight
My son turned ten just the other day
He said, "Thanks for the ball, Dad, come on let's play
Can you teach me to throw," I said "Not today
I got a lot to do," he said, "That's okay"
And he walked away but his smile never dimmed
And said, "I'm gonna be like him, yeah
You know I'm gonna be like him"
Personality: Very mechanically minded, Sam tends to view humans and other 'non-humans' as machines, to be manipulated and moved about like gears until they make a working machine. He tends to view himself as the one in charge, the one turning the crank to make the gears move and interact, and it doesn't help that, in general, people are smart enough not to disagree with him.
Not very often angered, Sam is mostly from the world, observing but not acting, however, when he is angered, he is quite dangerous for more than reason. He's dangerous not only because of his DNA, but also because he's unpredictable when angry. He could act immediatly, or he could dwell on his anger for weeks, or even months and act when you aren't expecting it. Sam holds onto his grudges, letting them fester and grow, until he finds inspiration for acting, and even then, he will most likely not forgive those who anger him. Sam is not a forgiving man in general, actually.
Observant, only rarely does Sam miss the goings on about the lab, whether it goes on with shapeshifters or DNAs, nothing is off limits to him. He converses with anyone he can get his hands on, learning about what he's missed and adding it to his fairly large store of knowledge.

History: As one of the original DNAs, Sam lived in the outside world for a grand total of 5 years, before being snatched up by an eager scientist who wished to experiment with his new ideas about the DNA of animals, and just how compatible the DNA of animals was with the DNA of humans.
The select group of scientists began with simple animals, the box jellyfish, the terrapin, and the rat, things that one could find easily, and has simple genomes that could be integrated with the genome of a human, and thus, Chikorendel lab was born, born on the backs of children who could not remember their old life.
Sam lived in this lab without knowing anything was strange, this was all the life he knew, until the day he reached the grand age of 9 years, when the new experiments, the ones who were old enough to remember life as it was before, arrived, and Sam was mostly forgotten by them in their various escape plans as he observed and learned, trying to figure out why they disliked this place so much.
It was good enough, they got fed every day, they always had a bed to sleep on, Sam couldn’t understand why they wanted to leave, and he didn’t follow when much of the second batch of DNAs attempted to escape.
Most were killed, and the ones that weren’t killed were taken away, never to be seen by Sam or any of his companions again.
A new group of DNAs arrived, by this point he had stopped keeping track of his age, and thought himself to be around the age of 11, and they learned from their predecessors, and did not attempt to escape for a time.
The guards began to relax, until around half of the second batch attempted to flee. Again, Sam remained there, not only because he doubted that the outside world was worth it, but also because he knew that none of those who tried to escape would survive.
Another batch of DNAs arrived, who soon attempted to escape as well, and then, they began to blur to him. One batch would be gone before long, why learn their names, why bother?
This position has protected him mostly from scrutiny by both scientists and guards, though, once in a while, DNAs would approach him about escaping. He didn’t want to escape, and he couldn’t see why the others couldn’t see it, and one DNA approached him while he was in an especially bad mood.
He killed that DNA, the hairs along his arm and hands growing hard, puncturing the boy’s skin, and injecting a deadly neurotoxin, killing him in around five minutes. Sam watched the boy writhe in silence, picking him up a few minutes later, and depositing him silently in front of a guard, ”He tried to get me to leave with him.” was all Sam said, and since that point, the DNAs had left him alone, which was exactly what he wanted.
Well, he came home from college just the other day
So much like a man I just had to say
"Son, I'm proud of you, can you sit for a while?"
He shook his head and said with a smile
"What I'd really like, Dad, is to borrow the car keys
See you later, can I have them please?"[/b]
Appearance: His hair is mostly grey, though the hair fades a bit to a bluish color in the right light, which makes his fair skin look almost illuminated in the same light. Oddly enough, his fair skin has no freckles or moles, which is a sure fire sign that Sam has spent a goodly amount of his life indoors, where the sun didn't touch him, and, oddly enough, being practically impervious to the sun seems to be a side effect of his DNA.
His eyes are on odd color, looking like a well loved, often fondled bronze plate, or something similar, a tarnished color that fits his appearance well.
His body is lean and muscled, certainly not muscled very well, but there are muscles there if you look, though those muscles cling tightly to his bones, and don't expand outwards as much as one might think. These muscles are designed for a swimmer, which Sam certainly is, with powerful lungs that can keep him underwater for extended periods of time. He could lift a good half of his body weight if he needed to, but in general, he doesn’t much, so his physical, though not obvious, prowess, is in general, forgotten.
- Height: 5 feet, 3 inches
- Weight: 165 pounds
- Hair Color: Grey
- Eye color: Goldish {he refers to it as 'tarnished bronze'}
- Special Features: Nothing outwardly obvious, however, when his hairs erect along his arms and fingers, he can release a deadly neurotoxin from his fingertips, where the hairs will puncture skin, having hardened into something similar to a jellyfish's tentacle. He can control the flow of this toxin, however, and its not like he injects everything he touches with venom like true jellyfish do.
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home son?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then
I've long since retired, my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time
You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu
But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad
It's been sure nice talking to you"
And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me
He'd grown up just like me
My boy was just like me
And the cat's in the cradle and the silver spoon
Little boy blue and the man on the moon
When you comin' home son?
I don't know when, but we'll get together then son
You know we'll have a good time then...
