Maikoda lays on one of the many couches. Her toes just barely touch the arm of the couch at one end, and her arms hang over the other armrest. Her copper eyes are open as she watches her brother pace back and forth. Slight anger was burning in her chest. Memories played in her head like a movie, and nothing she did could seem to block the visions out.
//Why must he come and see me when ever he doesn't have work? He BETRAYED me!// She thought to herself over and over again through out the mental movie. She had to hold back snarls as she thought about the betrayal.
//But hes my brother...I love him as i should// She finally added in her mind silently. Her body finally relaxed, as if giving up on the anger for the moment.
''Why are you pacing?'' Maikoda finally asked her brother. She didnt move anything but her head to look at him better. She blinked lazily at him.
Hinto stopped and looked his little sister. His eyes were icy cold and seemed to be hard and frozen at first, but then they warmed and seemed to glitter like running water dancing in a river.
''Just thinking, Mai,'' Hinto replied at last with a small, half reassuring smile.
''Thats your answer for everything,'' Maikoda said in a slightly desperate tone. She was growing tired of the same answer over and over again. She was annoyed with the constant look of harshness and stress on her brothers face, she was fed up with it all! She just wished it would all go away and go back to normal. Go back to how it was when they were living with the Naaka-Hay and the rest of the Sawtooth tribe.
''I do a lot of thinking now,'' Hinto said simply. He answered quickly, as if he had used that same answer before, many times.
''You say that all the time too,'' Maikoda said as she rolled her eyes.
Finally Hinto only sighed and fell into a chair, shaking his head. He wasn't going to argue with her again. They had just got over their last fight. That last fight had been their longest fight yet, lasting a full five days.
''When are they all supposed to get back?'' Maikoda asked after a few moments of silence. It was the mass testing day, and Maikoda, as always, had gotten out of it from much jumping through hoops on Hinto's part.
''When ever they are done,'' Hinto said with a nod to his sister. Maikoda groaned again. She hated to wait, but she was tired, so maybe she could just sleep? No, she was too antsy to sleep. Draw? Drawing was her favorite thing to do. No, she was out of scrapbook pages. She sighed heavily and rolled onto her stomach. Hinto watched her closely, slight worry in his eyes. He knew she missed the freedom. He himself missed it, but there was nothing that he could do about it.
About five minutes passed and hinto was surprised to see Maikoda stand up and walk to her dorm. The young shifter sighed and shook his head.
